whale watching

Whale Watching

Each year, from December to April, hundreds of humpback whales visit our waters, especially around Las Galeras and the Bay of Samaná. The protected waters of El Banco de la Plata y la Navidad are a sanctuary for the protection of mammalian animals in the Atlantic Ocean, including the humpback whales. During the winter, these giants of the sea migrate from the cold North into the warm Caribbean waters to mate and breed. This makes the Bay of Samaná one of the best places in the world to observe them! Whale-watching excursions are available January 15 - March 15.

atv buggy excursions

ATV and Buggy Excursions

The guided ATV or buggy excursion is what the locals consider a “baño de pueblo” or “shower in the local culture tour”. This all-day experience is one of the most efficient and fun ways to explore our region, including: Boca del Diabo blowhole, the marble quarry, La Hondonada natural bridge, Playa Rincon, and the Rincon hinterland. Most of our guests choose the private tour option. Choosing between an ATV or a buggy depends on price and personal preference. On an ATV, two people sit one behind the other. On a buggy, you sit next to each other and are better protected with a roll cage, proper seats and seat belts.
